DOUG FIR Lumber Specs
This species combination has the highest modulus of elasticity (MOE or E) value (the stiffness factor) of all North American softwoods. In strength properties, DF-L has the highest ratings of any Western softwood for fiber stress in bending, tension parallel to grain, horizontal shear, compression perpendicular and compression parallel to grain. Douglas Fir (DF) is often the standard against which all other framing species are measured.
What makes Real Cedar the right building material for your next project? Well, for starters, this highly revered, durable wood is naturally resistant to rot, decay and insect attacks, which means anything you build with it will last longer and require less maintenance. Aesthetically, there really is no substitute for the natural beauty of Real Cedar. No wonder Real Cedar is a designer's dream come true.
Redwood grades are established by the Redwood Inspection Service in the Standard Specifications for Grades of California Redwood Lumber. Properly grade-marked lumber will bear the RIS mark or that of another accredited inspection bureau. Grademarks may be on seasoned or unseasoned lumber on face, edge or end of piece. "Certified Kiln Dried" marks lumber kiln dried to accepted standards.
